We had started 'trying' about a month or two ago and the crazy 'planner' that I am had bought pregnancy tests just in case my impatience couldn't wait until I got my monthly friend...
I took a test in the past months and they always came out negative. So, Thursday August 18th, while Ryan was at practice and I was cleaning I thought 'I'll take one, what the heck', but thought 'it'll be negative'.
To my surprise...it had a faint line, that you can hardly tell below on. I kept re-looking at it thinking 'really?!'. So...naturally I had to take a digital one to see what that said...
Again, I wasn't sure what it would say, but sure enough it was POSITIVE!!! I proceeded to take another one or two. :-) I just couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing!
Ryan got home from practice and I couldn't hold it in, so I blurted out "Um...I'm pregnant!" He was shocked to hear that, he had come in, it was about 9:45pm and he hadn't had dinner, we had to work the next day, etc. It took him a day to get adjusted, and it took me a few hours to adjust to this as well, even though we both knew the outcome of us 'trying'.
Friday after work, we stopped at Walgreens for some more trusty tests, so Ryan could be there for the results and so I could again pee on a stick...why not, right?!
Of course, they were both POSITIVE!

So far, it's just so weird to think there is a little 'poppyseed' growing in my belly :-) I've had some cramping off and on the past couple days, random nausea and some food aversions. I know I need to eat and I do feel hungry at times, but when I try to think of a particular food, nothing sounds all too good.
I quit smoking the night I found out and have only had a craving when I've been drinking my morning coffee (which I told myself I would allow that one drink per day, but have since decided to cease halt to due to the fact that I WANT a smoke when I drink it :-)).
Other than that, so far so good. According to all my books and apps the estimated due date is April 30, 2012!
