7 weeks of belly love

How Far Along:  7 weeks

Size of baby:  Baby is the size of a blueberry, having doubled in size since last week.  Baby is about half an inch in length.

Gender: Still  unsure, hoping for a healthy baby!  13 more weeks until we find out!  At our ultrasound the heart beat was 140 bpm, which is on the bring of boy or girl but that theory is not proven and we know it's early so the heart beat will change.

Maternity Clothes:  My pants are a little snug and I don't feel very comfortable wearing regular shirts that I would normally wear with cardigans.  Good thing the weather is cooling down around here!  Loving my black work pants that have the stretchy band :-)

Movement:  No movement, but can't wait to feel it!  According to some of the apps on my phone, baby is starting to 'shudder' inside of me.

Sleep:  Nothing strange aside from waking at least one time per night to pee.  I usually wake up a couple hours before the alarm goes off with the slight feeling that I have to pee, I need to make myself get up otherwise I get a sore stomach in the morning...
Symptoms:   Tired in the afternoon then around 5pm.  Ready for bed by 9pm each night too.  Just very tired.

What I miss:  Sleeping completely through the night, staying up watching tv with my hubby...

Cravings:  Ate a jar of pickles in a day last week!  Other than that just random things at random times, nothing in particular.  Sometimes I want salty and other times I want sweet.

What I am looking forward to:  Finding out the gender of our little baby!

We had our very first doctor's appointment last Tuesday, it went well, just did all the testing and blood work.  My due date is May 2nd, however I like to go off of my first day of my last period, which was July 25, 2011, Monday.

We also had an ultrasound today, went to the dr for our appointment and their machine was down but they were able to get us into a diagnostic place to have it done that afternoon.  Baby Mc was too small for a tummy ultrasound so they had to go internally.  Now we are just awaiting the call from the doctor to let us know everything was okay.  It was so fun to see the little heart beating and have Ryan there with me.  We did verify there is only one little baby in there :-)  I pray that this baby stays healthy and continues to grow inside of me.  The tech did find a corpus luteum cyst which is apparently normal and usually goes away by the 2nd trimester, it is just providing progesterone for our little baby until the placenta takes over.  Also praying that there are no issues with that.

If you look below, our little angel baby is the bigger light colored thing in the dark part, the right thing is the yolk sac.  I can't wait for this baby to grow inside of me and for us to be able to feel him or her.

Ryan has been so sweet about all of this, I've been rather cranky at times, he deals well but will hold his own.  I feel bad but sometimes I just can't help it.  Since we've seen the heart beating and what not he has, I think, felt more attached to this little baby inside of me.  He keeps rubbing my belly.  I wish I felt it were more baby than pudge these days...ha!

*updated to add - I was going to pop back on here last night after I posted this to add that my 'girls' have grown a bit and are very sore, however, I do need to add now that they seem to have doubled in size over night.  It is nuts!  They are also still very sore.  I think I need to go out and purchase a new bra as none of mine fit correctly any longer...
