29 weeks of belly love

How Far Along:  29 weeks

Size of baby:  The size of a butternut squash, baby girl weighs around 2.5 - 3 pounds and measures almost 15 - 17  inches (crown to heel).

Gender:  It's a BABY GIRL - Madelyn Ella!

Maternity Clothes:  Absolutely!  Had to buy bigger sizes in a few essentials.  I do wear some regular shirts still.  And I'm in maternity undies :-)  ha!

Movement:  Not as frequent as it has been a few weeks ago but I believe it's just because she is getting bigger and there is less room to move around in there for her.  I have felt her move up towards my right ribs though - she'll get all up in there, I'll have to push her down a bit and then she balls up on one side of my belly and I can feel a hard spot.  It's so crazy to feel that and know it's her!  It's such an amazing thing.  That happened 2/16 for the very first time during work, I had to stop and feel it and revel in it a bit.

Sleep:  As of this week my heartburn has been so bad!  I have woken up a few nights from it and felt as though I could throw up.  As a matter of fact one night I did.  I think that I need to stop eating so close to when I go to bed because I feel like my food is just sitting right below my throat.  It's awful.

Symptoms:   Heart burn, back aches, slight swelling in the legs/ankles - nothing too bad though, swelling in the fingers at times - could be what I eat, protruding belly...ha, what I believe to be Braxton Hicks contractions, hardening of the stomach on certain sides, uterus expanding to my ribs!

What I miss:  My pre preggo body, sleeping on my stomach, no heartburn.

Cravings:   Hmmm...this past week - pb&j, spaghettios.  Not much, I'm feeling more full as of lately, like I just have no room for food to fit in there, or as much :-)

What I am looking forward to:  Meeting our little Maddie Girl!  And our shower, it is about a month away now and to think that she will be here about a month after that is just nuts.  I can't wait to hold her and snuggle her in my arms.  I also can't wait to see her Daddy with her, he talks to her all the time, says good morning and good night, and is just so excited too.  We went to Kohl's the other night and separated in there, he came back to me with two new outfits for her...ha!  She's going to have him, and both of us, wrapped around her little finger.

I also forgot to mention last week that when I went to the doctor I had to get the Rhogam shot because I am O negative blood type.  It's the Rh factor deal - where if my blood and baby girl's blood mixes it wouldn't be good.  I also got the Tetanus shot for whooping cough, since it's going around in our area.  I start my three week appointment next, which is week 31.  Then two weeks from there.  I'm not sure when the weeklies start, I'm guessing week 35?

On a bonus note, I was able to get the exact breast pump that we had on our registry from my sister in law, Stacey that was barely used, which is awesome because it goes for almost $300, woo hoo!  And I've been peaking at our registry to see what was purchased...can't help it, I'm a secret spoiler.  So far (and shower invites haven't gone out yet) we got the swing, diaper bag and a little giraffe blanket.  I can't wait!
