19 weeks of belly love

How Far Along:  19 weeks

Size of baby:  The size of a large heirloom tomato/softball/mango, about 6 inches and 8.5 ounces

Gender:  Still a girl according to the early ultrasound, but we will find out for sure (fingers crossed) a week from Wednesday at our 20 week ultrasound!  I can hardly wait!!!

Maternity Clothes:  Maternity pants and mostly tops but can wear regular tops as long as they are long enough.  Normal comfy pants though.

Movement:  I've felt movement almost daily now, but it's not as strong or as constant as I wish it would be.  I know in time it will come and it's still quite early.  I am just impatient and want to feel our little precious baby moving around inside of me so I know he or she is there.

Sleep:  Waking up mostly just 1 time per night except for weekends when I fall asleep early and try to sleep in later.  Although, not much of that is happening.  I am usually lying awake in bed at 6am on the weekend trying to coax myself to go back to sleep.  Of course, week days I don't want to get up at all!  Other than that turning from side to side trying to get comfy all night and not smash my belly :-)  I don't feel like I'm not getting enough sleep though.

Symptoms:   Heartburn almost daily, some cramping not all too often though.  I do get tingling/numbness in my right hip after standing for about 10 minutes.  Shortness of breath and I just noticed a new spider vein on my leg - I had some from prior jobs most likely (standing) and I sit on my legs a lot...

What I miss:  My skinny body :-)  I used to think I was a little thicker, looking back at pictures I feel so skinny and can see the difference.

Cravings:  Random things at random times.  I wanted a doughnut the other night, but specific - boston cream from Dunkin.  Cotton candy the other night, canned green beans.  Strange I know and usually not very healthy...  Although I have been loving and eating at least one time per day a fuji apple that is peeled and cut into pieces.

What I am looking forward to:  Our 20 week ultra sound!  Only 1.5 more weeks!!!  I can't wait to know that everything is healthy and start shopping :-)  Also to start decorating the nursery!  Doing the registry!  Although I'm sure that will be daunting as well...

On that note above, we did get the nursery painted and new blinds up.  The closet organizer is in the closet and there are some gender neutral clothes handing in there.  I got some bins to put on the shelves in there and we put together the glider.  It is making it feel more real!  To think we will have a little person that we created in this house living with us in a little over 5 months - just so unbelievable!
