A few firsts: bottle, formula and outing with Daddy

This past Saturday - the 19th of May - Madelyn had her very first bottle.  The first few were the few bags of breast milk we had in the freezer, but I had not been doing a good job of creating a stock pile.  Sadly enough...we didn't get a picture of her taking her first bottle but did get maybe her 5th bottle? in picture form.  Mommy was so sick (up to a 102.6 fever) and had no desire to get up to get the camera, let alone yell to Daddy to tell him to take a picture.  I have been exclusively breastfeeding our baby girl and was planning on waiting at least another week and a half to let Ryan give her the first bottle she took in but it came sooner then planned as to most things with a baby.  It was a blow to my ego though, although I know I shouldn't let it bother me as much as I do.  I just know I was her main source of food and I hate to have that taken away from me and mentally I just feel like she'll forget that she wants what I have for her. Another thing that didn't help the cause was that I didn't have enough breast milk stored so we resorted to feeding her a little formula too.  I did feed her here and there though.

Then on Sunday, the 20th, Daddy took his daughter for her first outing!  They went to cousin Colin's birthday party at Grandma TT's house.  I, again, was a mess of hormones because it was the first time they were leaving me.  I hated to feel left out and left without my two pieces of my family :-(  It was a good milestone for Ryan though as it gave him the push to get out there and know he could do this on his own.  It was a success!
