Adjusting your life as two married people without kids to having a little baby to care for is definitely work. At least in the newborn stage. Our first night home we attempted to sleep in our bed. This was not a wise choice as I couldn't get up and down easily still and going for laying down to getting up to get Madelyn was just so painful. Not to mention she was still waking up about every hour to eat.
The second night, we decided to all sleep downstairs as a family, this went on for about 4-5 days. I slept in the recliner and Ryan slept on the couch. I tried to put Maddie in the bassinet in her pack n play but she didn't do well sleeping in that. I ended up by the second or third night just holding her while sleeping in the recliner. Looking back it's all kind of a blur and we've made progress by leaps and bounds now.
